Overview:
Electrical inspectors play a vital role in public safety by ensuring electrical installations meet rigorous standards before connecting to the network. To become a Licensed Electrical Inspector (LEI), candidates must demonstrate their qualifications and proficiency through comprehensive theoretical and practical assessments. However, a lack of formal, accredited training pathways led to low pass rates, impacting both aspiring inspectors and the broader electrotechnology sector.
Recognising this challenge, Future Energy Skills (FES) addressed the need for accessible and engaging training. With funding from the Department of Education, FES developed innovative resources, including fully interactive videos. These resources support a flexible delivery model designed specifically for adult learners balancing professional and personal commitments.

The project aimed to enhance the capacity and capability of the training sector in delivering the Certificate IV in Electrical Inspection. Key objectives included:
- Developing professional, innovative training and assessment materials

The project produced blended learning and assessment resources, equipping licensed electrical workers with the skills and knowledge needed to become certified electrical inspectors. These resources provide practical, real-world training that enhances competency and confidence among candidates.
