Build Your Skills in Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency is central to Australia’s clean energy transition. As electrification accelerates, demand for expertise in energy efficiency management is rising. Future Energy Skills, commissioned by the Electrical Trades Union (ETU) and funded by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions 'Workforce Innovation Training Fund' is delivering this industry-designed training to strengthen workforce capability.
A free, non-accredited one-day course is now available for all A Grade licensed electricians—no prerequisites required. Choose between residential or commercial streams, or enrol in both.
Zero fees apply in 2025, with full funding provided under the grant. Courses are delivered by Future Energy Skills in Clayton and Holmesglen TAFE in Moorabin.

The benefits for licensed electricians
Licensed electricians who complete the program will:
- Enrol and complete the assessment only component to be awarded 22664VIC Course in Energy Efficiency Management starting 2026.
- Have the enhanced skills and- knowledge to support the electrification of Australian homes and small businesses.
- Be more employable, standing out among peers for their knowledge and skills. Demonstrate a commitment to career development in a growth area
- Have the potential to earn more money as a knowledgeable, trusted adviser to customers and workmates.
