VU22744 Work Safely in the Solar Industry- Educator Professional Development

Future Energy Skills recently hosted two professional development sessions for participating RTOs.

Future Energy Skills held Professional Development sessions to help prepare educators who will deliver the unit VU22744 Work safely in the solar industry at participating RTOs that have entered into agreements with Solar Victoria to deliver the mandatory training.

The aim of these sessions was to familiarise the educators with the new unit of competency and the learning and assessment resources available, prior to delivering the unit.

The session also included presentation from Solar Victoria on implementation and delivery schedule for the unit VU22744 Work safely in the solar industry. Representatives from Work Safe and Gippsland Solar also participated to provide an industry perspective on the importance of working safely in the solar industry.

VU22744 Work safely in the solar industry will be a mandatory unit for all solar workers carrying out installations for the Solar Homes Program by the end of 2020. All workers on the tools will need to have completed or be enrolled to complete the VU22744 unit by 1 July 2020.
