New initiative for apprentices and trainees during Covid 19
On Friday, 15 May the Minister for Training and Skills and Higher Education Gayle Tierney announced the Retrenched Apprentices and Trainees Program. This program is a collaboration with the Apprenticeship Employment Network, the peak body for group training employers.
Under this program, a register for retrenched apprentices and trainees has been set up encouraging the impacted apprentices and trainees to sign up at https://aen.org.au/outoftrade/. The registered apprentices and trainees will be assisted to stay engaged with their training and will further be assisted to place them with appropriate employers.
