Preparation towards LEA success
First-time success rates indicate on and off the job training during your apprenticeship in most cases is not enough for a passing your LEA, apprentices work across many areas in our industry, they either don’t get enough exposure or have enough experience carrying out the work prescribed in the LEA assessments. Our experience tells us that exposure to focused tuition, practice (and more practice!) in comfortable simulated environments, and of course performing the skills regularly on the job, is the best way to prepare. Future Energy Skills has delivered LEA’s for over 30 years, and we see a lot of mistakes made in the LEA due to nerves and stress when sitting for the first time, we can support you through this by providing the relaxed simulated environment for your essential preparation and practice.
We have recently purpose built the LEA training facility. Fitted out with the latest equipment, simulating the new Wiring Rules and endorsed by industry, we can offer the opportunity to ensure your knowledge and skills are well prepared before you undertake your LEA assessments. Industry preference is for LEA candidates to practice for at least 2 weeks after a tutorial before considering assessment. This further ensures long term retention of the knowledge and skills learnt in tutorials. Lower the stress levels and calm the nerves before your LEA by choosing one of the following options;
SWP Tutorial
During this one–day course, you will practice what you need to know and demonstrate to successfully complete your Safe Working Practices (SWP) assessment. Through undertaking this Tutorial, you are giving yourself the opportunity to successfully complete your SWP assessment, correctly using the Insulated Gloves. Should you feel you are not quite ready after a day, undertake further Skills Training and get more practice.
LET Tutorial
During this three–day course, you will practice what you need to know and demonstrate to successfully complete your Licenced Electrical Theory (LET) assessment. Through undertaking this Tutorial, you are giving yourself the opportunity to successfully complete your LET assessment, navigating the new Wiring Rules correctly. Should you feel you are not quite ready after the 3 days, undertake further Skills Training and use the opportunity to ask more questions and practice.
LEP Tutorial
During this three–day course, you will practice what you need to know and demonstrate to successfully complete your Licenced Electrical Practical (LEP) assessment. Through undertaking this Tutorial, you are giving yourself the opportunity to successfully complete your LEP assessment, learning to design, wire and test an electrical installation to the new Wiring Rules correctly is critical and its likely most apprentices are not current to the new Wringing Rules and how they apply to industry and the LEA.. Should you feel you are not quite ready after the 3 days, undertake further Skills Training and use the opportunity to ask and practice. Our equipment set out allowing you to practice and ask for assistance as required.
