You may enter a preferred date for your assessment on the application form. SWP and LEPs are run four to five times a week, so it is possible to get your preferred date, or one very close to it, if you send in your application at least one month in advance of your preferred date. LET assessments are usually held twice a week. These dates are published on the LEA Calendar.

Making a booking through your college or RTO
Sometimes the RTO (Registered Training Organisation) you attend for an LEA Refresher Course is able to make a booking for the whole class. In such cases, the following procedures apply, depending on how your RTO likes to work:
Option A: RTO sends all applications
- The RTO plans ahead to select a suitable assessment date in relation to the class finishing date.
- The RTO contacts Future Energy Skills to inform them of the desired assessment date and the number of people sitting. This must be done more than a month in advance of that date.
- Future Energy Skills confirms that date (or the closest one possible) to your RTO.
- The RTO assembles you and your classmates application forms, supporting documentation and fees and sends them to Future Energy Skills to arrive at least one month in advance of the desired assessment date.
- If the applications are received by Future Energy Skills at least one month in advance of the agreed date (you are now booked).
- If Future Energy Skills receives applications from your RTO with less than a month to go before the desired date, a new date for the assessment will most likely have to be arranged.
- Only places for the number of applications actually received before the one month deadline will be booked. Any unfilled places will become available to anyone.
Option B: you send the application
- The RTO plans ahead to select a suitable assessment date in relation to the class finishing date.
- The RTO contacts Future Energy Skills to inform them of the desired assessment date and the number of people sitting. This must be done more than a month in advance of that date.
- Future Energy Skills confirms that date (or the closest one possible) to your RTO.
- You will need to:
- fill in an application form
- gather the required supporting documentation
- decide on a payment method
- attach a completed RTO Group Booking Form to your application
- bring or send the lot to Future Energy Skills at least one month in advance of the date the RTO has arranged
- One month before the desired assessment date, Future Energy Skills administration will review the applications received. Only places for the number of applications actually received will be booked. Unfilled places will become available to anyone.
- If you were late in taking advantage of the RTO booking date, you will need to make a separate booking yourself.
