Launch of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Taskforce Report

On Monday the 27th of November, the Minister for Training and Skills, the Hon Gayle Tierney MP, launched the much-anticipated Apprenticeship and Traineeship Taskforce report.

The Taskforce was chaired by the Victorian Skills Commissioner Mr Neil Coulson and was established to examine opportunities and current barriers to the uptake of apprenticeships and traineeships in Victoria.

Extensive stakeholder consultation was undertaken to inform the findings of the final report.

The report outlines a number of recommendations across four key themes which are:

1. Better demand data: to inform decision making
2. Targeted pilots: to test approaches for strategic, cultural change
3. Proactive programs: to embed quality into the apprenticeships and traineeships model
4. Convincing campaigns: for a public relaunch of apprenticeships and traineeships
