Hello, my name is Michael. I started as an IT trainee in 2009 with Future Energy Skills as part of the Profile21 and IT team.
What does your job entail?
My job entails the management of our Profile21 system as well as providing IT expertise for Future Energy Skills.
What is a typical day like?
A typical day would be answering emails/phones calls at the Profile21 helpdesk, while also monitoring our office’s various IT devices/systems and talking to staff about any IT advice they need.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I generally like to hang out with family/friends, watch TV/sports or play video games.
What’s a common question you get from stakeholders?
The most common question I am asked is ‘What is my username/password for the Profile21 system?’
Favourite memory from work?
My favourite memories are from the development of the various IT systems that are used by Future Energy Skills, like the Profile21 and FESConnect systems.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I practised Taekwondo for around 7 years. I finished as a Second Dan Black Belt.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like most is the unpredictability and variety of tasks that the job provides, since a stakeholder or staff member will request an IT solution for a situation that our team will need to provide.
