Oana Cochrane is a Project Manager at Future Energy Skills. We recently asked Oana to share insights on her work and life outside of work.

A few lines about yourself.
Hi, my name is Oana (it’s pronounced Wana, that’s because it’s Romanian) and I lead the Future Energy Skills project team.
What does your job entail?
Managing our external and internal projects, overseeing the project team, assisting our EO with industry advisory and consultation work. My job varies a lot, from scoping projects and initiatives, liaising with stakeholders to resource development and content writing.
What is a typical day like?
Chaotic! Always busy, never a dull moment in the FES project team.
Favourite memory from work?
There are many; but a highlight was attending All Energy Conference last year with the project team and meeting many of our stakeholders.
What’s a common question you get from stakeholders?
What is it that you actually do?(Very hard to answer that in simple terms!)
What do you like most about your job?
Coming up with innovative solutions to problems and working towards better outcomes for our sector.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
Spending time with my family, I have two little boys who keep me very busy! In the very little time I get to myself, I enjoy home decorating and DIY, bike riding, books and wine.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I was born in Brasov, Transylvania, which is known in popular culture to be the home of Dracula’s castle. And no, we’re not related.
