The Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, and Minister for Solar Homes, The Hon Lily D’Ambrosio announced a $9 million training and development package to deliver free safety training to solar workers through all participating TAFEs.

The Ministerial event was held on Feb 11, 2020 at the Moorabin campus of the Holmesglen Institute of TAFE. “There has never been so many jobs in our solar industry. We’re making sure everyone who benefits from this jobs boom has the training to work safely”, Minister Lily D’Ambrosio said.
The event was also attended by Victorian Skills Commissioner Mr Neil Coulson who acknowledged Future Energy Skills’ involvement in the development of the Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry. The Skills Commissioner further said that the training and workforce development program is the first solar installer dedicated and accredited course in Victoria, and will further reinforce safety under the Solar Homes program.
