Dear colleagues,
Season’s Greetings and let us wish another COVID year Goodbye!
On behalf of Future Energy Skills (FES) I would like thank you for your continued support in what has been an extremely challenging year for us all. Throughout the COVID 19 crisis our staff have all been instrumental in enabling the continuation of critical assessment services at our Clayton and Maryborough facilities. The move to working from home presented many challenges for the FES team and I could not be prouder of their resilience and commitment.
2021 has been a huge year for Future Energy Skills and we are very proud to be able to share with you some of our achievements.
There have been many personnel changes, starting with my appointment as Executive Officer, I would like to thank the FES Board and Staff for their support and guidance.
Future Energy Skills Project Management (PMO) Team have been extremely busy developing a comprehensive suite of industry-validated learning and assessment materials for Licensed Electrical Inspectors Project on behalf of Solar Victoria. This new training program will encourage more qualified electricians to become LEIs and will build skills and capability for solar as well as new energy technologies for existing inspectors.
This initiative supports more jobs in a growing industry and continues to improve standards. The customised training resources will develop, upskill and support the Licenced Electrical Inspector industry and benefit retailers, installers and customers by reducing inspection wait times and increasing the quality of safety inspections.
The PMO team has been working alongside Energy Safe Victoria to complete Resource development for the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Project which is due to be piloted in March 2022. The new CPD program will ensure that all licence holders are up to date on safe working practices on both old and emerging electrical technologies, protecting electrical workers, their colleagues, and the wider community.
In 2022 our Licensing Team will continue to improve processes to ensure a seamless and transparent experience, while maintaining the integrity of Energy Safe Victoria’s License Assessments. We look forward to next year and continuing to work with all candidates, RTOs, training providers and industry.
After a turbulent 2 years the price of all LEA/REL services will remain status quo next year.
We look forward to being able to host an Industry event in 2022 where we can celebrate our accomplishments which would not have been possible without the support and commitment from our valued partners.
Enjoy this time with your family and friends.
On behalf of the FES team, wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
Best regards,
Michael Cullen
Executive Officer
