Electrical Inspection Course revamp

Future Energy Skills (FES) are excited to be participating in the re-accreditation of the Certificate IV in Electrical Inspection (22324VIC). A re-accreditation committee has been established and is being chaired by Energy Safe Victoria with representatives from the following organisations also involved:

  • Electrical Trade Union
  • NECA
  • Institute of Electrical Inspectors
  • Solar Victoria
  • Centre for U
  • Holmesglen Institute

The Project Management Team at FES are working alongside the Curriculum Maintenance Manager to help facilitate these committee meetings as well as providing secretariat support.

The vocational/educational outcomes of the Certificate IV in Electrical Inspection are to:

  • equip licensed electricians with the knowledge and skills to meet the assessment requirements of the State electrical regulator – Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) – for licensing as electrical inspectors in a specific inspection class.
  • provide further training for existing Licensed Electrical Inspectors (LEIs) to enable them to upskill to conduct inspections of electrical installations powered by renewable energy sources.

The Curriculum Maintenance Manager is aiming to have the Certificate IV in Electrical Inspection re-accredited in the first half of 2023.
