Our second Victorian Energy Industry Skills & Training Quarterly Report – Q2 2026 has been released, providing an evidence-based overview of Victoria’s energy industry skills and training landscape.
As the second edition, this report builds on the baseline set of core indicators that can be tracked over time, with a special focus on Training System Performance and Capacity.
Key Findings
The findings highlight that current training throughout is positive, but medium-term supply is less secure. VET completions and enrolments in electrotechnology qualifications are strong, yet apprentices in training have declined across Victoria’s largest pathways while electrician shortages and vacancy pressure persist.
This report also recognises positive trends in Victoria’s energy sector, including strong learner demand, excellent labour market outcomes, workforce diversification and regional workforce development.
