We just held our first FES Talks event!

Mar 24, 2026

An engaged group joined us on Tuesday 17th March for the very first FES Talks, a new forum designed to bring the electrotechnology industry together.

We heard from Jamie Goddard, Product Manager at NHP, who shared insights on RCD protection, and Matthew Tibbins, Compliance Field Officer at LeavePlus, who spoke about portable long service leave.

We also received updates from our Projects team, with Gen Walton and Tim Keily giving an overview of our Powering Women into Clean Energy Apprenticeships project and upcoming CPD Skills Development courses.

Two lucky attendees walked away with our door prizes, a box of chocolates and a TIACS Trade Mutt cap, congratulations!

Thank you to all our speakers and everyone who took time out of their evening to join the conversation. We really appreciate your support in getting FES Talks off the ground.

What are FES Talks?

FES Talks events aim to create a welcoming space to learn, share insights, and strengthen professional practice. From technical guidance and regulatory updates to business knowledge and wellbeing support.

Each event is tailored to a specific segment of the workforce, including:

  • Apprentices
  • Licensed Electricians
  • RECs and Electrical Business Owners
  • Licensed Electrical Inspectors (in partnership with the Institute of Electrical Inspectors events)
  • Trade Teachers and Trainers

Whether you’re a first year apprentice or a business leader, each FES Talk delivers practical, relevant and immediately useful information.

Events will be held at the Future Energy Skills Industry Centre in Clayton, streamed online, and offered at regional locations across Victoria
